Is Your Faith Working? Faith Without Works is Dead - James 2:17

REVISED BLOG POST
Greetings,
My purpose for this blog is to help some understand the concept of faith without works is dead. Many people are walking around today believing they have strong faith, yet the bill collectors are calling because you gave a special offering with your bill money. Some are naming and claiming things right now but you are not being a good steward now with the things you already have.
God is very intentional and he makes no mistakes. His word is truth and we have to study to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, but rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). The bible also tells us that we are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). It's our responsibility to be filled with the word of God knowing that as we grow and learn the things of God that we will indeed prosper. Many Christians have been in church all of their lives, but are still living beneath God's will for their lives because they are only dancing, singing and shouting in church. Don't get me wrong when I say this, but there is more to it than that. We have to live our lives out by walking in faith of God's promises, but we must also work towards that promise and not be idle. There are many scriptures that talk about being lazy and not working, and all of them lead to lack. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 says 'If anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat either'. Wow, that says it all right there. We also have to live a life that is pleasing to God (Romans 12:1-2). We can't expect God's best and live our lives any which way that's loose.
We can not walk around the rest of our lives naming and claiming or believing and receiving and not doing anything with our faith. To just walk around doing this and not working towards what you're believing is considered foolish. James 2:14-26 says 14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can [a]that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, [b]be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is [c]dead, being by itself.18 But someone [d]may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” 19 You believe that [e]God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?22 You see that faith was working with his works, and [f]as a result of the works, faith was [g]perfected; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
I don't want this to be you; And never get it.

I want you to receive the promise knowing that faith and works activates the blessing. When we have faith we pray, fast, speak affirmations, trust God and live a life that's pleasing in His sight. We also walk in confidence knowing that our prayers have been answered. When we work we move in faith towards that very thing we are believing for. If you are believing to be debt free then you prepare by paying off debt and using only one credit card if you must for emergencies. If you are believing for a new car or new home then you must take care of what you have and keep it in excellent condition. The same with believing for a spouse. You must prepare for marriage by going to conferences for singles in waiting, reading books that will help prepare you and going to premarital counseling when that time arrives. This is all apart of faith and works which go hand in hand. If you're believing for a new job, but you are just sitting on the sofa know that you must apply for jobs and actively seek out employment. If you want to start that business then you must do your research and get the knowledge, get your business license, and everything required to run that business properly. God loves us to much to let us stay in a place of ignorance, and He wants us to use the knowledge we receive so that we can change, learn and grow. When we know better we can do better.
We must be an active participant with God. God is watching our faith and works, and He is eagerly looking to bless His children. So I would love to know if your faith is working. Send me a comment on my website and let me know how your faith has been working for you.
As always, thanks for the visit and keep looking up!!!
