Is Your Light Shining?

Greetings,

Is your light shining? Matthew 5:16 tells us "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. So, are you shining today?

I had a deep talk with God and shared my honest feelings about a few things, and the funny thing about it is that I wanted to satisfy my flesh. I felt my anger towards someone who did something towards me on purpose to upset me needed to hear what I had to say. My anger was justified, but if I would have acted on it then I would have been in sin. You see God is looking for people that are willing to suffer the cost to shine in this dark world for Him. That day I cried because I wanted to tell this person off, but I knew God didn't want that, so I kept my mouth shut and allowed God to minister to me.

You see there are people that are assigned to our life for both good and evil. We must recognize who those people are that Satan has working double time just to get us out of peace. When we are not in peace that stops the overflow of Gods blessings. We cannot walk around in offense, hatred, jealousy, anger and a spirit of retaliation and un-forgiveness thinking God is going to bless us like that. I don't know about you, but I want the overflow of God's very best in my life and it’s going to take me dying to my flesh every day and the same goes for us all.

I was one to give people a piece of my mind especially when I felt they were out of line. I had to realize that it's not my job to get people straight only God can do that. We must love people where they are, and I'm not saying that we should just take bad behavior from others, but it is our responsibility to pray about and ask God for an opportunity to talk with them at the right time. Sometimes it's just an act of us praying and asking God to show them the error of their ways. I have done this many times before and the individuals have come back and apologized because I waited on the Lord.

We cannot live the Christian life going around cussing people out and telling people how we fell. We are supposed to be peacemakers and not walking around letting our flesh rule us in such a way that makes people question our Christianity.

I'm a work in progress and believe me sometimes I would just love to act a fool, and sometimes I do fall short, but I can't remain that way and say that I'm pleasing God and letting my light shine. I want to share the love of Christ and to do that I have to die to flesh and be the representative that God can trust with His people.

So, I challenge you today to SHINE and to shine bright. Hold your peace and walk in love because we see enough darkness in the world every day. Seeing someone getting cussed out or talked about is an everyday thing when we are out and about in public. Let's be the ones to show love by doing what's right and letting our light shine before men that may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven.

Be blessed beloved and enjoy Total Praise by Richard Smallwood. As always thanks for the visit and keep looking up!!!
