Don't Associate with Gossip...

Greetings,

You might find yourself in a situation right now which looks really bad, and you don't know what to do. As I get older I'm finding that the facts are necessary in order to make a fair judgement. I'm at a point in my life where I don't want to hear rumors, lies or falsehoods just give me the facts which are truth and only truth.

The bible tells us in Proverbs 20:19 "He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, therefore do not associate with a gossip". Whew, that right there says it all. I have to admit that I have to catch myself sometimes when communicating with others to make sure that the conversation doesn't turn into gossip. We all know that our flesh loves juicy conversation, but the Father is not pleased with it.

We may find that we fall short at times because of our human nature which gravitates towards fleshly desires, but it is still our responsibility to confess it to the Lord and repent.

God is saying today that we should follow Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of our mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers". God is calling us to be not only true to ourselves, but true to others by way of speech and thought. Philippians 4:8 says "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things". This is how we should think towards others. I know this is hard especially when someone has done you wrong, but you don't want your blessings blocked because of a grudge or un-forgiveness which can cause wrong thinking and unwholesome talk.

Let's go higher in our thoughts and speech and let go of gossip and seek the facts. If we find that the facts can show a negative light, then it's our responsibility to pray about it and ask God to lead us in doing the right thing. Let's follow 1 Peter 4:8 "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins".

Be blessed beloved and remember to Keep Looking Up!!!
