Waiting on the Promises of God

How long have you been waiting on God to move on your behalf, or just how long has God been waiting on you? Many of us have been waiting on some promises from God, and it seems like it will never come to fruition.

What has God promise to do in your life? Are you waiting on a new job, new home, reliable transportation, marriage relationship restored, child to be delivered from drugs, or maybe a healing in your very own body? We all are waiting on something from God, but what is God waiting on from us? Proverbs 30:5-6 says Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. When God says something He means what He says and we can't go around thinking God has changed His mind just because we don't want to change. Growth is painful. Change is painful, but nothing is more painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong.

If God said He was going to do something then we have to believe and know that He will bring it to pass. If God has given us instruction to do something then we must do that very thing. God just might be waiting on us to be obedient and do exactly what He said. God is not trying to take anything away from us, He's actually trying to get something to us. We can get so comfortable at times that we have a tendency to resist change. We get so use to things being one way, but God is desiring to do a new thing. What are you holding on to that God is wanting to remove? Is it a bad attitude, negative mindset, habit or something else that needs to exit your life? Could it also possibly be an environment you need to get away from?

We don't always move when God tells us to, but He is still waiting for our obedience to Him and is longing to give us the desires of our heart. Let's go to God in prayer and ask Him if there is something He is waiting for us to do. Let's get still before the Lord so that we can hear His response. If we think about it, we can never go wrong if we just do one thing. Read Matthew 6:33 and it will tell you exactly what that one thing is :-)
