Your Past is Your Past...
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come (2 Corinthians 5:17).
How long will you live in your past which causes you much grief? How long will you continue to live in shame and regret because of your past mistakes? How long will you continue to live condemned because of the negative opinions and labels that others try to place on you?
Today is a new day, and it's time to let go of the grave clothes which have kept you bound. It's time to take hold of the word of God which brings forth life. Do you not recognize that you are a new creation and old things have surely passed away? The enemy is the true accuser of the brethren. No longer take thought of what the enemy says about you because Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (Galatians 3:13).
Anyone that tries to remind you of who you once were is being used by the enemy and know that it's only a distraction. Break away from everyone and everything that would try to hinder your progress and to keep you in your past. You are loved, forgiven, blessed and a child of the most high God. Walk in your God given authority TODAY by believing that you are not defined by your past, but you are defined by God who makes all things new. Rejoice in that truth today!
Your past was just a lesson, and NOT a life sentence. You learned from it, you grew from it and now it's time for you to help someone else.
You never have to walk in guilt or shame again because of your past. You never have to walk in guilt or shame again because of what others have to say negatively about you. You believe what God says about you, and just in case you need a reminder, here are a few;
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).
So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God (Galatians 4:7).
You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate, but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married. For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you (Isaiah 62:3-5)
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed (John 8:36).
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more" (Hebrews 10:17).
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14).
Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62).
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:18-19).
Beloved, stay in the word of God and take hold of what God says about you. No one can take that away from you unless you give them that power becuse of what you say and think about yourself negatively. Live your life with purpose knowing that greater is He who lives within you than he who is in the world.
